THE NMIMS INDORE CAMPUS LIBRARY

Library at NMIMS Indore aims to serve the needs of faculty, research scholars, students and other members by providing an excellent collection of resources and services. The university strives to provide the latest collection of books journals, online sources, dissertations to students for course work and other research oriented work.

The library is also a department of the University’s central administration through which the library procures and manages all kind of books, journals, dissertations and case studies materials. The library is headed by a prudent committee who is in charge of the functioning of the library and the maintenance of the online library databases, Bloomberg etc.

NMIMS Indore Library is Wi-Fi enabled, well-furnished and air-conditioned. Spread over 447 sq m. with a seating capacity for over 220 students, digital library access 19 PCs, and 04 Bloomberg terminals. Library OPAC (online public access catalogue) is functioning 24X7.

 

Rules and Regulations

  1. Library will remain open Monday to Saturday from 9.00am to 8.00pm. Library will be closed on govt. holiday.
  2. Participants are required to carry their NMIMS participant card and staff to carry their NMIMS staff identity card to get entry and to use the Library, and must produce this when required doing so by an authorized person. This card must be used only by the member to whom it is issued.
  3. Bags and personnel belongings are not allowed inside the Library. For reasons of security, bags and other personal possessions should not be left unattended. NMIMS Library has no responsibility in case of damage or theft of personal property.
  4. Silence is required in study areas. The use of mobile phones in the Library is prohibited. Phones should be either switched off, or set to silent ring mode. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in a fine and/or exclusion from the Library. Violation of the rules will lead to fine and /or suspension of Participant for 3 weeks.
  5. Eatables are not allowed in the library.
  6. Photography, filming, video-taping and audio-taping in the Library is not allowed.
  7. Manually operated personal equipment should not be used without the prior permission of the Librarian.
  8. Users are required to comply with copyright regulations as displayed by the photocopiers.
  9. Data retrieved from the Library’s electronic resources may not be used for purposes other than teaching, research, personal educational development, administration and management of NMIMS, and development work associated with any of the aforementioned. Use of the data is not permitted for consultancy or services leading to commercial exploitation of the data, or for work of significant benefit to the employer of participants on industrial placement or part-time courses. Users must also comply with the specific requirements of individual data providers. Passwords must never be revealed to others.
  10. Loan allowances and periods are defined in guides to Library services. A reserved item is subject to recall once it has been on loan for Ten days.
  11. No library materials can be taken out of the library without the permission of the library staff.
  12. Full time student are expected to return borrowed book within 10 days and MPE participants within 15 days. Book can be renewed only twice continuously. Beyond respective due date, participant will be bear fine of 5.00 per day per book, after the due date for 15 days (MPE), 10 days (Full time Program). If the Participants don’t return the book after one month from the date of issue, the participant will be suspended from library for one month. Participants will normally be notified of overdue items by e-mail to their NMIMS e-mail account. If fines or charges are outstanding, borrowing rights will be withdrawn and passwords for accessing electronic services withheld until such time as those fines are paid. Reference books, Journals / magazines and Audio/Video material are strictly to be used / viewed in the library only.
  13. Users are responsible for material borrowed on their cards and will be required to pay for any damage to, or loss of, material borrowed at replacement cost, plus an administrative charge. Borrowing rights are withdrawn while payment is outstanding.
  14. The award of a NMIMS qualification will be deferred until all books have been returned and outstanding fines/charges paid.
  15. Shut down the computer after use.
